What restarts when you change settings

Not every save restarts something. Here’s the short map.

VPN service restarts (clients drop briefly)

• VPN Defaults: subnet, UDP/TCP ports, DNS-related VPN settings, TLS options
• Applying a preset
• Manual VPN restart on the Dashboard
• Some network tunnel changes / backup restore

Panel restarts (admin UI briefly unavailable)

• Web UI port change
• SSL certificate or key path change
• Certbot success or revert to self-signed

Usually no restart

• Default max devices alone
• VPN server host alone (affects new .ovpn downloads)
• Certbot email/domain fields until you request a cert
• Creating or editing clients
